Fauzul Yusri was born in a kampung in Kedah, and lived in what he remember as "unspoilt nature" and "peace" for over 20 years. His current work is an attempt to reconcile these experiences with the complexity and isolation that he sees in the city where he now lives.

GALLERIIIZU @ Kenny Hill in Kuala Lumpur is holding Fauzul Yusri's third solo art exhibition titled Pop Primitive from now until Oct 8.
Kedah-born Fauzul, 30, a graduate of UiTM, Shah Alam is a full-time artist. His vivid memories of unspoilt nature and the freedom and peace of village life have influenced his work. He prefers to mould his own style and does not conform to the artistic style of a particular mentor.
